Antique Quilt Display

This is the old Bull's Head Inn in Drayton.  In the early days it was a stop for the Cobb & Co. coaches.  One of our quilt members, Margie, and the Queensland Quilt Study Group have put up a display of quilts throughout the old Inn.  It is a wonderful display, so if you are in Toowoomba this weekend for the Carnival of Flowers be sure to visit.  You won't be disappointed!!

I haven't any more time to say too much here as I am getting ready for a busy day at the Toowoomba Quilter's quilt show.  I am looking after the sales table and it is a big job.  Will try and post pictures tomorrow.  More about the quilt show on toowoombaquiltersclub.blogspot.com

Wedding Cake & Amamoor Lodge

We went to a wedding on the weekend.  I thought this cake topper was so cute - 'don't let her get away now!!'
The wedding took place in a little (and I mean little) town called Amamoor (near Gympie).
Amamoor consists of a little general store and about a dozen houses, oh and a hall where the wedding reception was held.

It is also where you can find the most delightful B & B called "Amamoor Lodge".
We spent the night there and we could have easily spent a few nights. The hosts John and Cynthia were so welcoming and everything was so clean and well laid out.  Tea and coffee was available whenever we wanted it with some of Cynthia's home baking.
We were greeted in the morning by all the local bird life.
A most beautiful setting.

Cynthia is  a quilter and there is a hand made quilt on
each bed.  This is our room.  The rooms were so beautiful with all the natural wood.  John and Cynthia have built this place up from old farm buildings.  It is a real credit to them.

The dining area.
I loved all the stained glass with Australian motifs and -  Cynthia did them!!     She is one talented lady.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay and enjoy the quintessential Aussie bush, you couldn't go past "Amamoor Lodge".

Button Brooches

I have made these button brooches to sell on our sales table  at the quilting group's exhibition which is going to be held in a couple of weeks. Sorry about the string and tags showing, forgot to take a photo before attaching them.

See here for more information about Toowoomba Quilters Exhibition.  It is going to be fantastic this year.  Apart from spectacular quilts and fine art items, there will be trade tables (something new for us),demonstrations and two superb raffles.  Tea and coffee and cakes etc. will also be available (again, new for us).

This year has not seen me crafting too much to sell at the sales table.  Life has been dealing me lots of work and I'm afraid at this stage of our lives, work has to come before play. :(
