Lately I have been making a few of these postcards with a garden theme. I am thinking of putting them on our sales table at the quilt exhibition.
I enjoy doing a little free hand embroidery on them to give added texture. They are so much fun to make. My machine still doesn't like satin stitching the edging though. Will try a different tack next time - any suggestions gratefully received.
I am loving orange at the moment thanks to a stitchin fingers friend, Jennie. It gives the pieces 'pop' I feel. I am seeing a lot more orange in my future.

DI, this is absolutely beautiful..where are the rest have you put them on SF yet must rush over and look.
Isn't this a great way to use up all your scraps of fabric.
Love your butterfly postcard. Just gorgeous. The satin edging looks just fine to me.
Dianne, this card is beautiful. I love it. I think your satin stitching is fine, don't know what you are worrying about!!! I love the way you put your scraps as a background. Also gives me a thrill to see some pieces I have as well. Well done.
The card looks great Di!
For the few cards I have made, I sometimes went around the edge twice with satin stitch.
Otherwise you might want to experiment a bit and try some other stitches (blanket stitch?)
Hello Dianne, your butterfly is swirling over "my" flowery fbric which I used for dolls dresses last year. I am happy to see it in this poetic suroundings. Your postcard is a wonderful piece of art, I hope the right person bought it
